For 20 years, Operação Nariz Vermelho has been bringing joy to more than 47,000 children a year in Portuguese hospitals. To take this mission further and further, we’re looking for people who are passionate about the cause, have a love of communicating with the public, team spirit and a good dose of humour.
What is the Face to Face Campaign?
Face to Face is a method of raising funds by approaching people in the street to inform them about the work of Operação Nariz Vermelho and to recruit new Regular Donors for the ONV cause.
How important are Face to Face recruiters?
Our Face to Face recruiters are true ONV ambassadors as they help publicise the mission in a unique way, while at the same time guaranteeing the sustainability of the cause. They are absolutely crucial because by attracting new regular donors they enable ONV to continue ensuring that the Clown Doctors visit more and more hospitalised children.
If you think this work is your thing and you want to be our smile in the street, be part of this campaign!

Being part of Operation Red Nose is a unique and incredible experience! It has allowed me to enrich myself both personally and professionally, and I will undoubtedly take away some great lessons learnt. I’ve had the pleasure of joining an extraordinary team and the power to make such a noble and beautiful cause grow.
Our mission as recruiters allows us to get to know people, stories and pass on such an important message. It requires commitment and willpower, but the smiles we receive make it all worthwhile. And it is!
Because even though there are more difficult days, you realise the extent of your strength and resilience, and every achievement is celebrated, and that’s fantastic!

Smile Recruiter – F2F Porto Campaign
2019 a 2021
Working as a recruiter for Red Nose allowed me to deepen my human sensitivity.
I grew up recruiting donors who, like me, genuinely like to smile and know the importance of making a fragile child happy.
The work of Dr Clowns, artists by profession, goes beyond the self.
Moments of happiness are priceless (…)

2020
Taking part in Operation Red Nose’s Face to Face campaign was a fantastic experience, as I experienced unique moments with extraordinary people, from team-mates, clown doctors who transmit moments of joy to so many children, people who donate smiles, among others! I feel it was also an asset for me, as it made me grow on a personal level.
I’ve learnt a lot not only about myself, but also about other people and what it’s like to work as part of a team. (…) Working for such a noble cause makes me want to continue in this mission even more! :o)

Smile Recruiter – F2F Porto Campaign

Passing through the red nose made me feel special, I felt I had the power to change lives. I felt that every time I got a new donor I was sharing a feeling of happiness with them, because we were both helping the NPO.
This work makes you realise exactly how life works. Some days are more difficult, others less so, but they are all worth it in order to grow, learn and reflect. Every glance exchanged with a person in the street, every rejection or every smile is an achievement, regardless of the outcome of that achievement (…) and I’m proud to share the opportunity with the person to become a smile donor!

Smile Recruiter – F2F Porto Campaign
2019
In all honesty, being a Smile Recruiter is the best job I’ve ever had.
Although the days can be tiring, keeping motivated to achieve your goals makes everything lighter. And despite how difficult it can be to talk to people, those who stop and share with us make our day.
And most importantly, it’s very gratifying to know that all my effort has such a valuable goal, which is to bring smiles to children who need them.
