Red Nose Day: the day when everyone turns up their noses for our cause! - Operação Nariz Vermelho Skip to main content

1 June is World Children’s Day… and also Red Nose Day! It’s the most important date for Operation Red Nose, as it’s the day we officially invite the whole community to ‘turn up their noses’ for our cause and celebrate with us the art of the Clown Doctors and the joy they bring to hospitalised children, their families and hospital staff.

This is a day that brings the ONV closer to the public, organising solidarity initiatives such as the sale of solidarity merchandise to employees of companies and businesses, as well as activities for the school community. For this reason, although Red Nose Day is on 1 June, the celebrations extend throughout the months of May and June. The aim is for as many people as possible to take part, getting to know the mission of Operation Red Nose and helping us to raise funds to keep the Clown Doctors visiting hospitals.

RED NOSE DAY IN SCHOOLS
The involvement of the school community in Red Nose Day has, from the outset, been a fundamental support for the growth of Operation Red Nose’s mission and for the commemoration of this very special day, and we couldn’t be more grateful to all the teachers, assistants, educators, pupils and carers for all the support they give us year after year.
